Pet owners can sometimes be cruel, teasing their pets to chase after laser beams...
but dang, do they make for a funny video.

Japanese Marketing 201

Do you smell that?

Oh yes, that's the smell of another new, creative, crazy, confusing, and downright awesome Japanese commercials.

I recently saw this commercial on TV, and was left feeling slightly awkward, and very, very confused.



Immediately, I googled the name of the product being advertized and found the man in the commercial.
His name is TanoShingo (a combination between the Japanese word for "fun" (tanoshii) and his name "Shingo") and he is actually a full-time CHIROPRACTOR who rose to fame in Japan for all that fabulous personality.

Here's why I think Japanese advertizers are so darn creative.
They don't focus on bashing their rivals, or use clips of bad actors reviewing the product. Instead, they take an usual image and burn it into your brain, to the point where you keep seeing it, even when your eyes are closed.

This commercial does precicely that.
Does it bash it's competitors? No.
Does it have boring statistics? No.
Does it have a fabulous chiropractor dancing with children in an oversized bathroom? Check.

It may seem weird, but I did end up googling the product name, so I see this technique actually does work.

Now, if you're familiar with Japanese (or should I say Tokyoite) culture, you know that this is exactly how the majority of Japanese people would act when a stranger falls asleep on them on the train.

Bottomline: that kid is flipping adorable.

Dodson, from Huntsville, Alabama rose to fame this July for his less than ordinary interview.

If you ever want your video to hit a million views,

just upload a video of your pet talking.

Pretty simple.

Here are some of the most famous talking dogs on the internet.

Mishka, the articulate husky:

Recently, the ownered auto-tuned her voice and the video went viral.

Odie, the talking pug, also says "I love you".

Sounds a little like lung cancer compared to Mishka, but still adorable.

Saving the best for last, this video became so popular it was broadcasted on most major news shows in the US.
